At least I can get more hours to enjoy the peace, watch the rain fall upon the windows and see the moon roll away. Came across this and wanted to share, I'm not into pop music or anything I just play what I feel like and here is today's song. Definitely look at more though! One of my favourite groups on one of the best music programs on TV. Posted last year, I called it, if the game didnt change it would stop being played and they would have to do a hug update, new game or stick with the new less hardcore fans they have created e.g. play the game for a few months or weeks then leave. I am not excited about Gears Of War 4 unless the changed below have been implemented and they stop listening to useless uneducated forum posts. The developer responding and said I made great points. I was proud of that. Gears Of War 3 Article for Mr Lee Perry. First of all thanks for taking the time of your busy schedule to read this and also answer and reply to my tweets. For me Epic Games is the first company I feel that truly respond to their fans, and that is awesome for us as consumers. I think one of the main reasons the forums get so full of spam is down to that fact that deep down the people know Epic will eventually respond after everything has been asessed and they want to get the reply first. My History I would first like to quickly say a little bit about how I was introduced into the series. I tend to waffle so if you just want to skip to the balance section then go right ahead. I was introduced to Gears Of War 1 of the Mad World Corpser advert on the televsion. I was around 13 and I didnt have xbox live or a headset etc. I began to play the campaign and me being the tool I am selected Hardcore first. A lot of deaths later I gave up and went to casual and dragged my way through it. Eventually after sometime I was good enough to beat my firends offline and do Insane alone. I decided to buy xbox live and to my suprise didnt get destroyed. I slowly got better learning not to walk at someone with a chainsaw, run at power weapons or push someone when red. These few but simple techinques I had learnt stood me in good sted allowed me to slowly become top of the board. Im shortening but after alot of deaths I continued to hone my skills and became good. 40,000 Ranked Kills later I could walk into any public / ranked match off host and win single handedly. I remember me posting on Youtube a 48 kill game of execution in a first to 12. But that domination really made me get bored of Gears Of War 1. It was fun, but after a while I wanted something more. I then played competively. After another year I built a team and we did very well. It gave me a rush like no other. Some of the countrys best players trying to win; Something that got lost in GoW1 public. Players now dont play for the win more for kills. Something I love about Gow3 is that it is a team game. Occasionaly I would jump back to public and I would feel sorry for people that were just picking up the game because there was no way they could kill me unless there was some serious team fire on me. This put off late new comers of the game as the competition was too high. Yet I still feel its right that players that put more time in should win but like you posted, They should be able to get a kill somehow. I feel as a 'skilled' player that each tactic that allows a new player to get a kill should have a counter. Some games thrive of a skill caps like CSS or Starcraft 2. Gears Of War 2 Then released and I thinks its just about fair to say that it had its problems. I played it, but never really got into it. Movement speeds, Stopping power and incossitent shotguns made me give up the game. A huge dissapointment. But I understand this for some people would have been their first GoW Experience and would have stuck at it and loved it. It didnt feel like a gears game to me, but seeing as though GoW2 is behind us now I would like to move onto GoW3. Gears Of War 3 Balance and Future Growth Im not really to sure how to start this one so I will just type and see what happens. Authough I have zero clue about the way modern games are created I feel and I may be wrong that there may have been a issue where it was almost a stick of twist moment. A toss up between the two styles the heavy push style of GoW1 and the more 'tactical' slower pace gameplay. Let me say the balance between the two is near perfect. That for me is why I believe the game has caused so much controversy in the community so early on. Both sides feel it is so close to their style but still so far out of reach. Gnasher players like they can run and get gibs but others like the way they can now use their rifles. This when on paper to me sounds that "well if the two groups can play in their style then it is balanced". However in practice the two can truly co exist but with a few few things tweaked I believe can bring the two groups together and solve the rift. These are just my thoughts and I dont want to appear to be trying to tell Epic what to do . I run a community youutbe channel and I have collated the feedback over moths of solid comments and messages. Ranging from new players to MLG Pro Teams. Also before I start Execution to 5 rounds would bring the game mode back! Movement The only thing I have to say is in my eyes its perfect except for the acceleration implemented into the sensistivity. It makes the highest sensitivity still very slow to turn and the strafe or walking speed should be improved back to GoW1 Speed. This isnt to make it a shotgun fest but when players eventually get into one they cannot strafe out of the bullets as the character can easily keep up with him due to the increase Aiming speed. This would create intense watching and would make a lot of people very happy. Starting weapons Gnasher As a die hard GoW1 Fan I can't believe I am saying this but I feel it is too strong, but weak in the key area. During the Beta I would always get a Gib at point blank range and it was awesome. It worked and was the best Gansher to date. For some reason, me and a lot of others believe the range or another element got changed in retail. It Gibs less and as a result people take alot of point blank shots. This appears to have effected the strength at distance. What makes Gears so special is the Gnasher battles. These have almost gone. It 2 shot downs from a big distance every time. 100% of the time it will two shot down but it never frequenty gibs. I feel it should be a 3 shot down from around 8 foot but the second you enter Gib range it should blow them away. Once you get hit by the first shell you may as well out your pad down becuase it is so strong . In short it is near perfect but with ever so slightly faster walking speed and less range the result would be the skill cap is raised and it isnt about who hits the first 2 shots but the player who has the greatest mix of movement and accuracy. Sawed Off It is what it is. I understand it and get why it is in there. In a 1v1 sitution i will 8 times out of 10 come out on top but for me the range isnt an issue authough I have still been gibbed then length of gridlock Stairs and it could do with slightly less due to the fact it doesnt have to be aimed but if there is a classic playlist I wouldnt care. I think what people dont get It is really the fact that it has a wind angle and only a tiny a bit has to hit for them to get the gib so they can effectively clip you but still blow you up. I know the gnasher is a better gun so like you said I hope they understand that and give it a try. Certain situations though make it impossible to beat. Some doorways or corners are so narrow that even if they aimed furtherst away from me and I walk furthest away they still kill me. But there is no point ranting as there are plenty of threads on it. Rifles. The retro is overpowered in the way it man handles the shotgun due to crazy amounts of stopping power. The hammerburst is fine but a tad more recoil when In full scope mode would be nice. The Lancer is currently overpowered. I say this not becuase I dont use it because I have around 50/50 on Rifle to Shotgun Kills. When using the gun on your own it still feels very strong. The amount of bullets you get means you can and I have downed 4 people in 1 clip. That it is too big and in a team enviroment makes any form of organised push impossible. At a recent online tournament 2 players manged to down 4 players that rushed them. They got downed in around 3 foot of moving. This wasnt from a long distance but at point blank range and before they had even fired they were all down. If a classic playlist were to be introduced which I feel it should to increase the games audience then stopping power should be removed in that playlist or the amount of bullets reduced. The GoW1 community enjoy lancering as much as any others. They just prefer to do it with team fire and use the lancer as a slayer and a support weapon not as main gun. Quick Round up of pick up weapons. Frags - The detonation time has definetly been changed and it makes wall tags that are hidden behind leaves etc impossible to dodge. You hear one beep and you die. Also the explosion radius is to large. I have been killed from a very long way away. Finally one niggely thing is that if you down a player holding grenades there is no timer. They just explode, so in execution you can literally not get the kill as he will blow both of you up. Me and my friends both have had to leave people to get up in Scrims / LAN becuase you cannot do anything. I feel the timer should be changed and one added to the downed players grenades. One Shot - Now the only maps to have it are trenches and mercy the ADS is to long or the zoom level is to high as a boltok or any rifle can easily kill you beofre it is raised and ready to shoot. Torque - Fine Sniper Sniper aims randomly at the cover ( Never Fixed) Boom - Fine ( Inconsistent and to much splash, should be 2 shots ) Hammer - Fine Scorcher - Fine ( Now Buffed and OP) Boltok - To much DPS when active Gorgon - Fine Ink - Radius is large and damage inconsistent Incediary - Fine ( Now Buffed and OP) Weapons swaps aren't equal eg an Ink shouldn't swap to smoke. Boltok for gorgon etc also weapons such as mulchers on mercy are to easily countered by the boltok. Ideally public should definitely have different swaps to horde as the are separate things and have a different style. I thank you for reading and hopefully I was clear and not agressive in my view point. I like to think things through first. I may have missed a few things out but that is the majority. I was going to post about map balance such as adding cover as there are lots of lots of open long corridors that mean matches draw out and become very slow but I thought its was best just to talk about mine and others experiences of the game so far. I would suggest the true pro players for map balance and sawps for the classic playlist. Once again thanks for helping create an awesome game that will keep me entertained and I love the way you interact with fans and hopefully my writting wasnt to poor and long winded. Thanks Samuel Fletcher. http://www.youtube.com/user/VideoFletcher http://www.samuelfletcher.co.uk/ As the title says football is one of a number of things just about stay happy on this earth. I am possessed by it, the tactics, the players, the flair, the rumours the psychology. I was a keeen player, playing for local and school teams all the way through education, playing in the street from home time until bedtimes and I am really missing it. I haven't played in over a year and its killing me. Right now I am getting goosebumps watching football players last ever matches. To think of millions of people growing up watching you play football you whole life and you draw a close of your career with millions of fans chanting your name and talking about you years on must be an indescribable feeling.
I never integrated well into school, struggled to make friends in high school, primary wasn't to bad as well we are younger and don't really understand enemy's so everyone are friends. We played football every single day through primary and every night of my life ( no exaggeration ) through highschool. If I wasn't playing in the streets I would be practicing my control in the garden, hours mindlessly perfecting control a ball coming from the height of a house ( where I would throw it ) Its how I mixed into groups, I wasn't going to waltz into a group announce myself and ask to be friends but I might play football in your team at 5 a side then get chatting and it served me well. I met a lot of very great people through the game. Its something I will never stop watching and hopefully I can play more if I get back into shape. I just feel that my current friends are more entertained by drinking or other activity's when deep down I'm still 14 and I want to play football every day. Here I have included an old image I have found with a some good friends in there, one guy even saved my life but hey, that's another story! So I finally figured out why I feel so down and its well because none of my close friends seem to just want to chill, we always have to be doing an activity. What happened to the old days of sitting outside on the floor just making small talk and kicking ball. I didn't get into the main team as much as I would have liked but I wasn't fit enough for full sized pitches but in 5 a side my close control paid off and I would just do 'around the world' step overs cut backs, fake look passes and I was quite high up the pecking order to be picked. My biggest regret in life is never getting fitter and stronger because if I could have played 5 a side like 11 a side I would have at least been a more solid player. Also lacked paced so had to rely on trickery as I was quite slow as I was a year younger than everyone else. But anyone I just wanted to write this to clear some thoughts from my head. Love these instrumental tracks, really gets you thinking fast becoming one of my favourites along side 65 days of static and ArcadeFire Sometimes we all need a good laugh. AuthorJust a regular 23 year old man. Struggling to know what paths to choose but just doing what makes him happy at time. I hate the generic modern culture of drinking and that everyone tries to grow up to quick. Archives
